Snow Day
Christmas Card Photo Shoot
Today we finally got with it and dressed the kids up and took their pictures for our Christmas cards. A & E don't like to cooperate so we didn't get the "perfect" shots but hey, what fun is that anyways! Here are a few of the attempts we made:

Growing and Learning
The babies are getting soooo big! They are 22 months and I can't believe that they are almost 2. They are learning so much more than I feel like I am teaching them. A still loves to help with everything, it's amazing some of the things he picks up, he figures out so much on his own as well. E loves to dance and run (and especially hop!). They have just really started talking the last couple of weeks, we were a little worried because they would talk to each other but not really to us. I think almost everyday they say something new! One of my favorites is when A says...um! I guess I must say it a little too much cause whenever I ask him a question he will say, "um no" (usually). He says no so cute too, he almost sings it. E loves to sing, she also likes to count to three and yells the three. Tonight I taught them how to sing with their noses pinched and they think it is so funny, especially when I do it. Sometimes I worry because when I compare them to some of the kids in nursery they seem so far behind but I try to remind myself that each kid is different and twins are especially that way. I am so proud of them though for all that they can do and just really love them sooo much and can't imagine how we went for so long without them.
Doing something right
So Ben gets after me sometimes that I put too much into the blog and that we should go private but that's not something that I want to do. Tonight he was reading a letter about internet security and when he googled our names...nothing! He said he was proud of me for having some security and that maybe I was doing okay and keep it up. So thanks hon for telling me thanks and acknowledging that I am trying to keep our family safe!

Happy Thanksgiving!
I want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. I have so much to be grateful in my life, I am grateful for a Father in Heaven who loves me and knows me, I am grateful to my husband for his patience and understanding. I am grateful for two beautiful babies who fill my heart and life to overfilling. I am grateful for good health, I am grateful for my family and for the love they always show. I am grateful for my friends and the fact that although we are separated by great distances we can still keep in touch. I am grateful for my home, food, and vehicle and that I have what so many others don't. I have so many things to be grateful for and know that I take it for granted so hopefully I can remember to count my many blessings! Thank you all!!

Little Readers
A and E love to read, but each in their own way. E likes to sit with a book and "read" it, turning the pages, talking gibberish and looking very serious.
A prefers to be read to - he will bring over a small stack of books and sit on my lap and make me read the books to him over and over (and over) again. Sometimes E will make her way over and join us.
A&E both love the "Peek-a-boo" books. A loves the choo-choo train book, and another book called "Daddy Cuddles". I spend many evenings sitting on the couch upstairs reading the same books to them over and over again - and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Big Babies
I have some very cute kids and wanted to share. I cannot believe how big they are getting and they do some of the funniest things. They are sooo different it amazes me! They are finally starting to actually say words and not just gibberish all the time. A loves to help, when Ben came home from work tonight he had barely gotten up the stairs and A was trying to take his shoes off and then went and put them away. E loves to sing and dance, she will walk around singing all day but of course whenever I try to get her on video she gets shy and won't sing anymore. (Her favorite song is Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star). I am sad that they are getting so big so fast but also proud of them for all that they can do. Here's a little video I took of them this morning:

The C-word
My wonderful, fabulous sister-in-law Shauna has been sick for awhile and didn't really know what was wrong, it was just kind of not feeling well. She ended up in the hospital last week and today was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma. I don't know much about it but from what I have read it's not good. I think there is only a 15-20% survival rate and that is after heavy and intense treatment. She doesn't know much yet but she will have to have surgery to try and remove some of it and then have radiation and oral chemo. She will be in for a rough ride but she is definitely a fighter and if anyone can beat it, she will. I ask all my wonderful friends and family to join us in prayers on her behalf that the Father's will in this matter be done. It is hard living so far away and not being able to be there for her but we will offer up all the prayers we can and help her that way!

Happy Birthday Ben!
Today is Ben's birthday!! He does not like having his bday on Halloween but I think it's kind of cool! He told me when he was younger he would switch birthdays with his sister so he could have a "normal" birthday. I just wanted to wish him a very happy birthday and tell him that A, E, and I love him very much!!
Happy Halloween...Arrrrgh!

I need to say sorry to all of our "fans" (and you know who you are) out there...it has been awhile since I've posted and I really don't have a good excuse. Well other than being at my parents for a week and crashing the computer (again) and then getting new one and trying to get it set up. Anyways...I know the babies are getting big fast and I really need to document it better! We have been doing pretty good, I caught what has turned out to be a monthly cold, E decided one night to vomit all of her lasagne up, and A has been running a fever the last couple of days but other than that we have been healthy. The babies and I went to Rexburg for a week at the first of the month, I know I can't believe I drove for 5+ hours with just the three of us. My dad's brother and sis-in-law were coming for a visit and they hadn't seen the babies since last Christmas so we decided that we would pop up there for a little visit. We had originally planned to go up on Sunday afternoon but the Wednesday before I found out that my best friend from high school's grandpa had passed away so we went up on Thursday so I could go to the funeral on Friday. I haven't seen my friend April for probably almost 10 years so I was so excited when she had managed to come up from Arizona. Ben had decided that he didn't want to be separated from us for a week so he drove up for the weekend and we got to go on a date! My mom and dad watched the babies and we went out to dinner and took a tour of some of our old haunts. We wanted to go "park" but since I had a cold and he had a little bit of one as well, we decided that wasn't a good idea ;D. The kids and I got to visit lots of family and friends while we were there so that was lots of fun. They had lots of fun playing at Aunt Wheez's house with the triplets too. Here's a little video of all the silly kids: (oh, and don't mind my cold voice)

Ben's "Staycation"
So I'm a little behind but trying to catch up- about a month ago (?) Ben took a week off of work to work in the yard and do some landscaping. They had put a thin layer of bark down when they put in the "flower beds" but we didn't really like it so we decided to put rock in instead. By we I mean Ben by the way, he was awesome and did the majority of the work with some "help" from A and E. He put some weed barrier down, put plastic trim around the border and then put the rock in. We had to have the rock delivered (times like these we really miss the truck!!) and they were supposed to call before they delivered but they didn't and ended up trapping his car in the garage. Good thing he didn't have to go to work! He also had 3 trees planted in the backyard and I am so glad we paid a little extra and had the nursery plant them, I don't think I could have helped much, they looked very heavy! They look very nice and once they've grown a bit should give nice shade in the backyard. While he was home I was able to enjoy a little "me" time since he was good to watch the kids. I went to Harry Potter (yes, again) and the dentist, and no I didn't have any cavities or anything, they said it looked great. Here are some pics of the yard!

Laughs
So I am still in my "funk" but couldn't resist posting this video which is one of the things that makes me happy and makes trudging through every day worth it!
Wednesday, September 23, 2009

So I have kinda been in a slump again, I feel like eeyore with the rain cloud over his head. I have been horrible about updating the blog, haven't taken many pictures of the kids and they are changing sooo much. I have been feeling pretty apathetic about life when I really shouldn't because life is pretty good. Anyways...I guess this is my day to moan & complain and then commit to trying to make my life better!! I am going to update the blog more often and do what I can to get out of my funk (I hope). So there!!

Kiddie Kandids
Today we went to Kiddie Kandids to get our "18" month pics (they're now 19 1/2 months) and while E was all smiles, A did not want to cooperate so we didn't get real great pics but we got some and that's all that counts, right?!
It was funny because when we got there we got a brochure and who should be featured in it...my cousin's baby August!! He is so cute and I can see why they would make him their poster child!!
Yes, that's my cell phone he's holding...he was crying until he heard the phone ring and then he wanted it and we figured what heck, let him have it!!

Western Idaho Fair

On Saturday we went to the Western Idaho Fair held here in Boise. It's been awhile since I've been to a fair but I think that the East Idaho Fair is better (at least I remember it that way). It didn't seem like there was really that much here, definitely not enough food choices. Anyways, we walked around for a couple of hours and the kids were really not that impressed with it. We tried to take in one of the little traveling shows they had and A cried through most of it, grrr. I did get to have a funnel cake and an ice cream potato but that is really all I had, I know kinda lame. We took the kids to the petting zoo but they didn't even really like that either, silly kids. We were going to take them on the carousel but at $3.00 a ticket we decided the risk that they wouldn't like it was too high so they didn't even get to do that. There was one thing they loved though...the food and lemonade!
