We're Two!!

A and E turned two on January 22nd. I can hardly believe they have entered this new stage, it seems only yesterday we were bringing them home from the hospital. We took them to dinner for their birthday and then Grandma and Grandpa Michaelis came over for the weekend. We had a small party with gma, gpa, our friend Haven and her mommy Krystal on Sunday. We had cake and ice cream and watched them play in their new cars. We got them the Little Tykes Cozy Coupes for their birthday and of course we had to get two, it's a good thing we did because they try and spend all their time in them now. They even try to eat their meals in them...I tell them this house isn't a drive thru and they need to sit in their chairs! They got cute little knitted hats and books from Haven and Krystal, jeans from their Rogers' grandparents, a tool kit and stroller from their Michaelis' grandparents, and of course, their cars from us.

Their not so homemade cake:

Birthday Dinner

We took the babies to Red Robin on their birthday for dinner. I had gotten them cute little birthday shirts that I made them wear and then they got balloons while we were there otherwise it was a pretty uneventful dinner!

A little video we took while there:

2 Year Check-up

We went to the Dr today for our 2 year check-up and were very pleased to hear that the babies are very healthy! Here are our stats:
A is 27lbs, 4oz (50th%), and 34 3/4in tall (70th%).
E is 27lbs, 6oz (55th%), and 34 1/4in tall (70th%).

Emily still has a bit of a murmer but the Dr says she can barely hear it and so she thinks it may be closing up on it's own but we will go see the cardiologist in about 6 months just to make sure. They seem to be doing okay with their development, they may be just a little behind with speech but that is to be expected with twins. I'm sure they will suddenly take off and we won't be able to keep them quiet again!!

Catching Up (for the millionth time)

It has been forever (yet again) since I have blogged so here goes...! A has become a "mad scientist" at mealtime, he is always mixing his food together and dumping from one container to another. It looks gross and it is usually towards the end of the meal so he is not eating much more but he sure does like to make a mess. For Christmas we got A a Handy Manny truck/tool bench and he absolutely loves it, he plays with it almost constantly and if E tries to play also he pushes her away and doesn't like to share. E is talking more than ever and we still don't understand most of what she says, she has picked up a few more words. She is also dancing and singing all the time, she makes up her own little songs (I think) and walks around the house singing them. She also likes to call me Shannon (or some form of it), instead of momma. It cracks me up and drives me crazy at the same time. They love their daddy and are so excited when he comes home, I get ignored for the most part. I am very lucky that Ben is such a great dad and plays with them, feeds them, and does whatever else is needed. When we came home from visiting my family at Christmas E and I brought home a bad cold and I felt so bad for E, she was hoarse and coughing but luckily it only took her about a week to get over it. I on the other hand, have just gotten over mine and am finally ready to put the WII fit that Ben got me to good use! Wish me luck!!

Happy New Year!

Wow, I can't believe it's already 2010, it seems like just yesterday we were ringing in the new millenium. Time is definitely going way, way too fast! We didn't do much to ring in the new year, just stayed home since the babies were in bed long before the clock struck 12:00. We rented The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. I can't believe we haven't rented that movie before now, I laughed sooooo hard!! I still can't believe I didn't wake the babies up. There were a couple of naughty parts so if you haven't seen it but want to be aware of that, although I think I laughed the hardest at those. We watched the ball drop at midnight then pretty much went to bed. E and I both woke up with a nasty cold the next morning so that was a very unpleasant suprise. I feel so bad for her because this is the sickest she has ever been, it's deep in her chest and she is very hoarse. She just cries all the time and wants to be held. Ben says he feels like he's coming down with something but so far A is just fine, whinier than normal but that could be because his sister is getting loads of attention. Here is the first video we have taken in 2010 so enjoy:

Christmas 2009

I know I'm a little bit behind but we had a great Christmas again this year! We went to my parent's house in Rexburg and spent almost a week there with them. A and E weren't really impressed with the opening of the presents, we ended up opening most of them again but they were excited about their toys! Santa brought A a little Handy Manny truck/workbench which has tools and lots of little things to fix so he of course loves it! Santa brought E a stroller, high chair, and bassinet for her babies. She wasn't quite as into it as I thought she would be, she actually kept fighting with A for his truck. I think she will enjoy it though. A likes to put his tools in the stroller and take them for a ride. They also got twin Cabbage Patch Dolls from their Michaelis grandparents and cute outfits from their Rogers grandparents. I am really embarrased to admit that I didn't get many pics of the morning and then forgot my camera when we were out and about the rest of the day. We went to the Fisher's house for Christmas dinner where they had lots of fun playing with all the kids. Ben got a GPS system for Christmas and I got the laptop (which I sometimes share with Ben). It is nice to be with family but we may end up just staying home one of these Christmases so that we can enjoy not having to travel.

Our New Friend

I know that I haven't blogged in a while so here goes...in mid-December I started watching the baby of my aquaintance/now friend Krystal. Her name is Haven and she is about 4 months old and very, very cute. It is nice to have a baby in the house again, I have been a little bit baby hungry but know that we aren't having anymore so I have her just enough to quench that little hunger! I have her 2 days a week so it's not too overwhelming and the babies love her!! A especially loves to sit or lay next to her and just look, it's so cute. I'm not sure how long I will have her, at first we talked about it being just a temporary thing until they could work something else out but we haven't really talked past that, I think we would be fine having her forever ;P I won't be posting any pictures of her, her parents aren't comfortable with it, which I totally understand so you will have to take my word about how cute she is. Oh, and I will probably just be referring to her as Baby H from now on!
