Today was our 4 month well baby check-up so it was a day for...shots! They had to have 3 each and did not really enjoy it. Here are a couple of videos of the event.

Another Angel
So I've decided that we need to be thrown curve balls in life when we decide that we are just getting comfortable. Last weekend didn't go exactly as planned. My parents were coming out on Friday and we were going to go shopping and hang out. I got a phone call on thursday night that my grandpa had passed away. He was an incredible man and influence in my life as well as so many others, his funeral on Tuesday was packed! I am so lucky that I was able to grow up next door to my grandparents. My grandpa was such an integral part of my life, he taught me to ride a bike, a horse, to drive. I was able to spend a lot of time with him and do so much with him, even when it was as simple as riding on the tractor while he plowed or holding the needle while giving shots to calves. I thought that I would have such a hard time accepting that he was gone, when my mom told me I bawled but then went into sort of that surreal state, you know, when things don't seem real. I thought that when I got to my grandparents house, which is where we stay when we go to Rexburg, it would be more real because he wasn't there but it still wasn't real. Then I thought that when we had the funeral, that would make it real but it still isn't. I guess knowing that he had been in so much pain and then seeing him look so much at peace has helped me accept it. I know that he can be with my brother, Travis, again always looking out for us, another guardian angel to watch over my babies. I feel bad for Anthony & Emily that they will never remember him, but am glad that when we have gone to Rexburg he was able to spend time with them and that they made him so proud. Ironically, it was 5 years ago on Monday that my younger brother, Travis, passed away. That day just happened to be Memorial Day and just happened to be my father's birthday...yeah, happy birthday dad:(. This year it was the same deal which is why my parents were coming out to see us. That and the fact that for the past couple of years my parents have ended up visiting us on my dad's birthday. I can hardly believe it has already been that long, I think we are taking life for granted again so we needed a reminder that we really need to live each day to the fullest and appreciate all that we have. It has also helped remind me that things really do happen for a reason, I can't imagine living all the way over in New Mexico and having this happen, I am so glad we are closer and that we were able to go and be with family when we needed to.

New Discoveries
Well, it's been a few days so I'll post today! This weekend we had quite the busy time, Anthony, Emily, and I went with Ben to get his haircut, then we all went to Costco. It is so easy to spend way too much money there, but it's all in the name of food storage right?! On Sunday we decided that the kids were probably big enough to pull out some new toys so we(I) put up jumpers and put together the exersaucer that we got from several aunts and cousins. I think they may still be a little too small for the jumpers but they did pretty well in the exersaucer. I'll post a couple of videos so you can see how big they are getting. They really liked the saucer, even the cat likes it, it's her new special place to lay (as long as they aren't in it). Grandpa & Grandma Michaelis are coming next weekend and hopefully we'll get to do something fun, it's supposed to rain but I'm hoping the news is wrong. I would like to go to the zoo and I will definitely post after all the excitement of the weekend!

My 1st Mother's Day
Happy (Belated) Mother's Day to all you mothers out there! My very first mother's day went very well. It started with breakfast in bed and then a shower (yeah!) and then a mad dash to get ready for church (for which we were a few minutes late). Ben had planned to cook this nice steak dinner with baked potatoes and fresh asparagus but at church the Relief Society president invited over to her house for a bbq so we decided to go ahead and do that. Her son and daughter-in-law had suprise twins so they are no stranger to multiples. When we got home from church I decided that a nap was in order so Emily and I went and laid down and then Ben decided maybe he and Anthony should join us. I was feeling a little crowded so I went and laid on the couch but not before I took a nice little picture. For Mother's Day Ben and the kids made me the cutest little cards, he put their hands and feet in paint and then put them on paper. The feet worked really well but the hands not so much, it was still really cute though. On the inside he posted little pictures of the babies. He also gave me some money so that when my mom comes at Memorial Day we can do a little shopping. Well, better get busy again while Anthony and Emily are asleep.

Bye, Bye House
Los Lunas House, Winter
Los Lunas House, FallWell, it's finally happened...we're no longer homeowners. The government bought our house since we hadn't sold it yet. We didn't get as much as we had hoped but at least we made enough that we don't owe anything on it, it's nice to be out from under it, we couldn't have afforded many more months of mortgage and rent. I do miss our house and New Mexico, it was nice to not have to worry about the carpet and stuff like that. The house we are renting is in a neighborhood that is associated and they are very strict, we have already received a warning that the grass was too long and there were a few weeds in the rock beds. Hello, don't they know I have two babies and no time for things like weeds? (Guess not!) Emily and I did get out for a little while today to pull some weeds so they'll have to be happy with that. We took the kids on Saturday to Kiddie Kandids and had pictures done and they turned out so cute!! Anthony and Emily mostly cooperated, they did really well for their individual pics but by the time we got to the pair together, they had had it. We got lucky and got a couple of good shots and went with it. The babies are getting so big, we weighed them and they are about 12 lbs each, pretty soon I won't be able to hold them both. They are also getting so much personality and realizing that they have each other, they smile at each other a lot more now. Well, guess I'd better get to bed now, Ben is gone again this week so it kind of makes for a long day!
