Happy Father's Day (belated)

So I tried to post yesterday but apparently the fates were against it, I just could not get it to work so I will do it today! I just wanted to wish a Happy Father's Day to all of those great dads out there. I especially want to tell my husband how much I appreciate him and all that he does for us. It took us along time to become a mom and dad and I think that is so we would appreciate it that much more when it did happen. Ben has been so wonderful to this family, he is always willing to pitch in and help out. He loves to play with the babies and takes them on walks and to the playground all the time. He works hard so that I can stay home and be a mom and I am very grateful for that. Thanks again honey for all that you do, you are the best!!!!!!

Hawaii Pt 2

I am finally getting around to posting the rest of our trip!
On Wednesday we went to the huge swap meet they have at the stadium because we wanted to find matching Hawaiian outfits for the kids again. It was pretty hot & stupid me, I forgot the sunscreen so we tried to hurry through and not be there for too long. We did find a couple of cute outfits but they are in size 4T so it will be awhile before we can wear them! We also got matching t-shirts for Ben and I and the kids have matching t-shirts. There was a lot of fun stuff for great deals so I thought we did pretty well to limit our time and thus our spending!! Later that evening we went to a sandbar Kate had found on Hickam Air Force base. We were lucky that Kate has a military ID and could get into this great beach!! This is where we took the great pics that I posted two posts back. The beach was really nice because there were tiny waves so the babies could have lots of fun playing in the water...plus it was really warm!
Having fun splashing each other:

On Thursday we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center (you have to right? you can't go to Hawaii without going there!) We didn't get there until later so we didn't get to see much of the villages but we had a great time at the luau. Well, when we could finally get the babies some food, we did. I had thought we had plenty of treats in the bag only to find they had been taken out before we left home, oops! We went to the great show they have after dinner but unfortunately Anthony had had enough by this time & I had to go walk him around just after it started and we left at intermission which meant we missed the best part...the fire dancers!! Oh, well, better to have happy kids!

On Friday ended up going to Hanauma Bay which has great snorkeling. Ben had fun seeing all the fish but didn't get to see any sea turtles! Unfortunately Emily had had enough of beaches and oceans and cried the whole time we were there. It didn't help that it was a windy, cold (for Hawaii) day. We took our niece Brooklyn with us so she floated around in the ocean until it was time to go, good thing she's such a good girl! It was a beautiful spot and had the day been a little nicer I think we could have had lots of fun. We were flying home on Saturday but didn't leave until almost 11:00 so we took advantage of Kate & Pete's offer to watch the kids so we could go and enjoy Pearl Harbor (click the word to link to a great site about it). I'm glad we didn't have the kids with us because they would not have enjoyed it, it was such a great experience for us though. I don't know but I have always been fascinated by it and was so glad we could go and see the USS Arizona and also walk through the little museum they have there.
I took this pic from the shore so it's pretty distant but if you follow the link above they have a great pic of the memorial:
We are so grateful to the Feider family for allowing us the opportunity to come and visit them, I don't know that we would have ever made it over there if they wouldn't have been there! Thanks for putting up with crying kids and crazy schedules! We love you and miss you already!

Hawaii Pt.1

I am finally getting around to posting about our wonderful trip and decided that I would do it in two parts so here is part one!!

We left Boise on Friday, June 5th and flew to Oahu via Portland. We had a little struggle with the flying part, the babies got very bored on the flight from Portland to Honolulu and were also very tired but we finally got there and met up with Ben's sister Kate. After getting lei ed (sorry, I've always wanted to say it) with the beautiful (and real) flowers Kate had brought us we made our way to their house.

The babies at the Honolulu airport:

On Saturday we went to the Children's Discovery Center and then to a park right next to it where we had a picnic and attempted to take a family picture (didn't work so well!) That was also the only place that I saw surfers! On Sunday we went to Sacrament meeting and then hung out with Kate, Pete, and their kids, Brooklyn & Jett. A & E loved Brooklyn & Jett from the first, they followed them around everywhere, which I don't think Jett appreciated too much! We hadn't seen the Feider family since Brooklyn was 2 (I think) and had never met Jett so it was great to see them all!

On Monday, Jett wasn't feeling too well so Kate gave us her car and we went to the Ko'Olina Resort and played in one of the lagoons that they have there. It was the babies' first experience not only on a beach but with water that is not in the bathtub so it took a bit for them to get excited about it but they ended up having fun. We sat on the shore and let the shallow waves wash over us. Ben had fun snorkeling and I tried but couldn't get past the panic attacks enough to enjoy it. On Tuesday, Jett was feeling better so Kate took us to a beach park where she and Ben could do some more snorkeling. The babies and I just played in the shallow water again and also played in the sand. Here is a pic of Ben in snorkel gear:

The babies actually did so much better with the time change than I ever thought they would! It was a little rough the first morning when they woke up @ 5:00 am but since that would actually have been sleeping in for them we got over it! A could get pretty crabby if he got a little hungry or tired but E handled the change much better. Well, I guess that's about it for the first part of our trip. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to post the rest of our vacay!

Alooooha!

We're back! We had a wonderful week in Oahu visiting Ben's sister & her family but it is nice to be back. I laid Anthony in his crib and he just looked around and sighed contentedly. I'll be posting all about our trip but I wanted to put up a few pics that Ben's sister Kate (the great ;D) took for us while we there. She is an awesome photographer and really likes to play with the pics so she gets great results. I think she may have convinced me I need photoshop for my computer too!!

Father & Son Campout

So maybe I'm not the best one to be posting this but I'll do it anyways! Last friday night was our ward/church father & son campout. As soon as Ben heard about this he was soooo excited because he loves camping & well, I don't. I've been excited for both my boys to have this great bonding experience but as I was helping get things ready to go I started bawling because I realized that this is the first time I would be away from my baby boy at night!! Anyways, they got on the road & made it up there and had a great time. A was the youngest by quite a bit but that didn't stop him from having fun. Here's a little video that Ben took while they were there:

Oh, and you ask what did E and I do while the boys were away? Went shopping of course!!
