Our Weekend

Since Saturday was the 4th Ben had Friday off and we decided we needed to go have some family time. A friend of my mom's had told me about this place in Boise run by the Fish and Game so we decided to go check it out. It was called the Morrison Knudsen Nature Center and it is very close to the greenbelt and various parks in Boise. It was a really cool place and best of all it's free!!

They have a big pond where they stock like 8 different kinds of fish and then they have glass cutouts so you can actually see the fish. The kids loved the fish, they were so mad when we took them away!



It's on like 4 acres so it's not too big and they have lots of trails that you can walk around. In addition to the pond they have a butterfly/hummingbird garden, bird watching station, as well as lots of other cool things. The kids loved to see the fish, they screamed when we took them away. It is a really nice place to just go and get back in harmony with nature without actually leaving the city! (There is no fishing allowed but apparently someone went in overnight to try and fish and this poor guy ended up with a hook in his fin!!)

On Saturday we really didn't do much, the Carter's outlet was having a big sale so we went out there and did some shopping then in late afternoon went to a bbq in our neighboorhood. It's kind of hard to do much since the kids are still so young so we didn't even attempt to go watch fireworks or anything (the kids were in bed anyways). We did watch a little bit out of our window though. I guess our lives are pretty boring but that's about it for us!!
